The Boy with a Phone Who Dreamed Bigger: My WinZO Superstar Story

For most of his younger days and teens, he was just Vijender – the boy who loved playing games on a mobile phone. However, when he is online, he is called Alpha – the gamer. That’s the name his audience knows – the loyal audience that fills his comment sections and referral dashboards. And he built this community from the ground up using just a smartphone, a not-so-good Internet connection, but an unwavering belief in himself.

He is 22 now, and realising that his dreams are all his and realising them – one dream at a time. Standing at the edge of a plot of land with his name on it and a bike parked outside, he continues to march ahead with a phone and with one YouTube upload at a time.

Here is his story – how WinZO Superstar changed his life and how his dreams are becoming his new reality.

My name is Alpha. Well, that is what the gaming world knows me as. But before all this, I was Vijender – a regular 22-year-old from a small town but with big dreams and not enough space or means to chase them.

Well, now that I think about it, I remember the summer my exams ended and I was free – no classes or textbooks. With this freedom, I asked my parents for a smartphone. They were not took keen, understandably. For them, a phone was not an investment, but more a distraction. But I was quite adamant and I told them: “Give me a phone once. I promise I’ll do something with it.”

Eventually, they agreed.

My Gaming Journey Started

I did not waste any time. I dove headfirst into gaming. I spent all my time playing games for all the three months. Hours flew by and I was completely invested – every level-up, every win and loss. But the day vacation came to an end – both my parents and reality knocked. “You’ve had your fun,” my parents said. “Now, focus on studies.”

They were not wrong – I was given the freedom during the vacations, but I understood the concern in their voices. They were not really worried about gaming, but wanted me to be serious about my future. This is where something clicked and I thought about gaming and making this my life and actually doing something with it.

What if this thing everyone saw as a distraction could actually the start my new journey?

And I started a YouTube channel.

It was just me and my phone. There was no fancy gear, did not have any high-end mic. Just gameplay, my commentary, and a lot of conviction. However, for six months, did not find any traction. My videos did not get a lot of views. I would keep refreshing the stats hoping things would change – the numbers would improve.

It did not.

Relatives would just drop in and pass on their advice: “Just get a job. ₹25,000 – 30,000 ($287-344) a month is good money. Don’t waste your time.”

I heard them and thought to myself: Give me time. One day I’ll make something that is ten times that.

And then, one day – everything changed.

Things were about to change

One of my videos finally took off. Almost 300,000 views. Just like that. I cannot explain the feeling – my world finally was turning. This was the first time I actually made money online – this was real money, not some loose change.

I went to my parents and said, “Remember when I kept asking for that phone? I made a promise, I would do something with it – I played games and now, look.” I showed them the amount in my bank account.

They could not believe it. “Seriously? You earned this by playing games?”

“Oh ,Yes. Absolutely,” I said.

This was the point where they started respecting what I was doing.

WinZO Superstar Programme – A Life-changing Collaboration

Soon after, I got involved with the WinZO Superstar program. The ask was pretty simple – I had to inform my viewers about WinZO, ask them to install the app using my referral link. And once they downloaded the app and started playing games, they could win too. And, if they used my referral link, I’d earn. If they referred others, they’d earn. For each referral I earned ₹50 ($0.58). What more could I ask for?

The beauty of this entire referral program was that everyone won. It wasn’t just gaming – it was so much about community-building. And this was the first time, I felt like I was building something real.

Now that I look back, before WinZO, my income was never steady. I had tried for two years to make something work, but the income was always up and down. However, ever since I partnered with them, my monthly income has only increased. No dips, no fallbacks. Just growth. And that’s the thing – it is not about money – it is about belief, momentum and a lot of community building.

My Dreams were taking shape

With this income, I started dreaming bigger. Where I come from, owing a land means everything, it is more than just a property, it is pride, flex and status. It’s security.

And I bought it. My own land. With the regular income from WinZO.

Then came the bike. And now, a car is on the list.

There are days when I walk on the very streets I grew up on, and the local boys, the same relatives who would offer so much advice stop and ask me to teach it to them and teach the whole YouTube business to their kids.

This shift is validation in so many different ways – from doubt to admiration. And it changes everything.

I really want to gift my parents a house. Every boy wants to do that. For me, it used to be a dream that is somewhere very distant. Five, maybe ten years down the line.

But now? It really feels closer.

Thanks to gaming. Thanks to YouTube. Thanks to WinZO. The support and this association has completely changed the game for me.

And yes, a thanks to that smartphone given to me my parents back in that summer vacation.

Sometimes, people think success is all about luck. I do not agree. It is all about being consistent, being ready when your moment arrives. I do not know which video would actually blow up – but I kept showing up. Kept posting. Kept believing.

I’m not done, well, not even close. But I’ve come so far because I believed in my journey.

Don’t underestimate dreams just because they start on a screen. Sometimes, the smallest screens lead to the biggest stages.
